Frame Started

The frame was started on Tuesday this week and they have made quite a bit of progress. The trusses are to be delivered on Monday and brick work for the garage completed by the end of next week hopefully. Think we are still at least 4 weeks before lockup stage at this rate.

Few photos below to give a bit of an idea of the rooms.

Lighting

Ok the lighting for the house i think has finally been decided on after many hours of trying to figure it all out and i am sure pushing my luck with many vendors.

We have tried to go energy efficient lights when ever possible and as a result have managed to have all LED lights for the entire house which is nice.

Downlights are the Brightgreen D900 Curve and D700 Curve which come with a 7 year replacement warranty and a lifetime of around 70000.

They have the highest colour index rating of any downlight which should help bring a little vitality to the lighting, no image but link to site below

Got Slab

Ok have just been out today and the slab has been completed with the frame being started on Monday. Boy the slab was thick in the end, looks to be 450mm think from ground level and 500 to 1000mm for edge beams

Home Automation

OK I think I have a new list of gadgets that i would like in the new house

Looking at the http://www.fibaro.com/en Home Centre 2 which will allow us to control all lights in the house with a mobile phone or tablet, control watering systems, turn on appliances and integrate a security system as well.

Thinking at this stage will have the lights in the house in the pantry, WIR automatic and when it is dark in the hallways when the Little Girl gets out of bed in the night time it will auto light the hallway.

Also does GEO tracking so that if you are getting home and it is dark it will detect when you are 500m from your house and turn on the lights out the front for you and in the main living area.

All looks very cool

Will definitely put up some video if we end up getting it installed

Slab Started

Well the slab has been started with all the pipework being completed and the fill has been completed ready for the slab to be boxed and the reinforcing mesh to be installed.

We are a little concerned that the house might be a bit small once finished but everyone seems to say that it is always like that.

The garage, outdoor area and paths will all be layed towards the end of the build with an option to add more concrete if wanted.
